Cumulatively, users run an average of 1,000 sessions per day
Vancouver, BC -- December 15, 2021 -- One year since its iOS and Android app launch, Singular Hearing, a subsidiary of Singular Software and creator of HeardThat, announced today it has reached 10,000 users who rely on the app approximately every 1,000 times every day. These milestones affirm the need for assistive technology for those that have trouble hearing conversations in noise, regardless of whether they have Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids, cochlear implants, or ordinary earbuds or headphones. The app secured its place in the market with its unique processing capabilities, which leverage the latest machine learning technology to separate speech from noise.
Since the November 2020 launch, the HeardThat team has held focus groups and conducted field research to drive consistent enhancements to the app, using valuable input and audio samples from those that participated. Today, HeardThat supports more than 300 Android and iPhone models, in addition to top Bluetooth-enabled hearing aid brands, including Phonak, ReSound, Kirkland Signature, Unitron, Starkey, Widex and many more.
While the intended use for the HeardThat app was to help those who have trouble hearing speech in noisy environments, like holding a conversation in a coffee shop or restaurant, HeardThat received feedback that others have found it useful in a number of other scenarios. a A doctor shared that she uses it while making hospital rounds so that she can hear her patients over the background noise. A mother reported her school-aged child relied on the app to help him concentrate during his remote learning classes. One couple also told Singular Hearing that they use HeardThat when they run their weekly errands. They found it useful in the car to speak with one another and in stores, which enabled them to converse better amongst themselves and store staff.
